Description
This painting shows the beauty of the Balinese green forest. It is mainly located on the river bank, in which the Calonarang performance was done close by the riverside shrine. At the same time, the picture also highlights the other usage of the river. It shows that 7 women are taking baths and a woman is taking water from the river.
The artist itself creates a big contrast in the picture, as the Calonarang was painted in the middle of the illustration. It captures the detail of Barong dances and the icing of gamelan song in the middle of the forest. It somehow depicts how tradition and nature come together in Bali.
